International Solid Waste Association Conference

The purpose of this ISWA Conference is to explore advances in Solid Waste Treatment and Disposal technologies and to deliver experiences, knowledge and innovative approaches that have been applied and successfully tested. Real city models and integrated solutions in developed and transition economies, technological advances, market development and alternative project financing mechanisms are going to be discussed and debated by top waste management scientists and businessmen. Special emphasis will be given to the increasing interesting field of Climate Change and its relation with waste management as well as to international cooperation issues and procedures.

The selection of Moscow to hold the conference reflects growing interest in these topics in Russia and the significance of creation of a new, environmentally friendly and economically effective industry. The Conference is meant for a wide circle of waste industry professionals, management, municipal and governmental agencies, scientific, design, educational and public institutions, technology and equipment vendors.

  • Publications and submission of papers

Papers

The Programme Committee encourages you to send abstracts/papers on any of the above conference topics. The paper must not exceed 8 pages for oral presentation and 4 pages for poster presentation with tables and illustrations. Abstracts/papers will only be accepted in electronic form
(MS Word) at iswaconference@sibico.com . The deadline for abstracts/papers submission is 20 January 2011 .

Please make sure your abstracts/papers contains the following institutions:

  • Authors' names, last names, positions and companies, institutions of all authors
  • Conference topic (underlined)
  • Name of the paper
  • 3-6 key words (for identification)
  • E-mail, postal address, phone and fax number

In case the abstracts/papers have more than one author please underline the name for contact and communication. The Programme Committee will review and identify abstracts/papers for presentation out of the received ones. Please, find the detailed instructions for authors at www.iswaconference.ru

  • Presentations & Publications

The selected papers will be presented either in oral or in poster form. The Programme Committee will make review and selection as well as define the type of presentation and the authors will be notified by 28 February 2011 .

Selected papers (presented orally or as a poster) will be published as registered electronic publications (CD-ROM).

Full texts of the conference participants from Russia, CIS and Baltic States will be published in two languages; foreign participants' texts will be published in English only.

Please note that for each selected paper it is mandatory for at least one author to register for the conference to make a presentation.

Please check the receipt of your submission by the Conference Secretariat.

Conference participation charges are the authors' responsibility.

English and Russian will be the official languages of the conference. All sessions of the conference will be provided with simultaneous translation.

  • WasteTech-2011

The ISWA conference will be held as a part of the conference programme of the International exhibition for waste management, recycling, renewable energy and environmental technologies – WasteTech 2011. Please, find details at www.waste-tech.ru .

  • Fees and registration

Registration fee covers: participation in the conference (31 May - 2 June 2011), admittance to Waste Tech exhibition, delegate bag, collection of papers on CD-ROM, Waste Tech exhibition catalogue, simultaneous translation, daily coffee breaks, Moscow city tour and admittance to Waste Tech Trade Fair.  The list of offered tours will be given at www.iswaconference.ru .
