Pro Tips for a Hassle-Free Dumpster Rental

Dumpster Rentals Professional Tips

Here are our top professional tips for a smooth, cost-effective dumpster rental experience.

1. Size Matters (And We can Help!)

Don't just guess which bin size you need. Choosing one that's too small means you’ll need a second swap (extra cost and time), while one that's too big is simply paying for empty space.

Need heavy material removal (concrete, soil, brick)? Our 4 Yard Bin is the heavy-hitter. We price these with a flat rate as opposed to by the ton, giving you cost certainty for dense materials.

Small renovation or a garage cleanout? The 10 Yard Bin is incredibly versatile. This is also the bin of choice for our roofing customers and contractors—it holds plenty of shingles without overwhelming the driveway.

Major estate purge, remodel, or cabinet replacement? Opt for the 17 Yard Bin. It is suitable for all other jobs where you need just a little more space. Consider this bin if you’re doing a cleanout with a lot of furniture or renovations with cabinets.

If you are unsure, describe your project to our friendly team when you call, and we can make an expert recommendation.

2. Know What Can’t Go in the Bin

While our dumpsters can handle nearly everything, there are standard safety and environmental regulations on certain "Prohibited Items."

Hazardous Materials: Paint (liquid), tires, batteries, propane tanks, refrigerators (with Freon), asbestos, and chemicals.

Fluids: Oil, fuel, anti-freeze.

Attempting to dispose of these in a general dumpster will result in additional sorting fees or environmental fines. We work hard to be responsible in our disposal practices.

. 3. Protect Your Property

A loaded dumpster is very heavy. While our drivers are careful, you can take simple steps to ensure your driveway is protected. Before delivery, you can lay down sheets of plywood or long planks of wood exactly where the bin should go. Our delivery team appreciates this preparation and will set the bin down gently onto your protective barrier.

4. Pack the Bin Like a Tetris Game

How you load the dumpster affects how much you can fit.

Load Large, Heavy Items First: Flatten bulky items like cardboard boxes and old furniture.

Distribute Weight Evenly: Avoid piling heavy material (like concrete) all on one side. This makes the pickup safer for our drivers and helps prevent shifts during transport.

No "Over-filling": Do not load debris past the top rim of the dumpster. We cannot safely transport an over-filled bin.
