Ocean Conservation Research

Ocean Conservation Research

Our oceans are in trouble. Canada’s endangered species are declining faster than ever, ship noise is adversely impacting critically threatened killer whales, and by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean.

Conservation research, like that conducted by Ocean Wise, is helping to address these issues. You can support these efforts by making a donation today.

We’re studying endangered species in their coastal habitats, including killer whales and belugas and our research is helping to protect their habitats. We’re learning about ocean plastics and the sources of micro-plastics that are being eaten by aquatic species. And in the face of climate change, we are cataloging arctic biodiversity before it’s too late.

Those are just a few examples. But what all of our research programs have in common is that they are directly applicable to ocean conservation action. Our research informs management decisions, guides conservation efforts and protects the ocean for future generations. We’ve been leading world-class ocean research and training the next generation of aquatic researchers for over 60 years. Many of our research programs have been active for decades. But our oceans need us now more than ever and we need to do more, quickly. Please make a gift today to develop the knowledge and solutions we need.

Every gift matters and I know that together we can we make a difference for our oceans this holiday season.

Thank you for your support.
